Too much power and the receiver equipment amplifier saturates, too little power and noise becomes a problem as it interferes with the signal.

Fiber optic attenuators are thus used to adjust the optical power to the desired level. The attenuators are divided into fixed and variable. The attenuation values for the fixes range from 1 dB to 20 dB, in 1 dB increments. Frog Engineering attenuators are distinguished by their high power resistance and low back reflection, making them suitable for high speed digital transmission and simulation applications.

Available in single mode and multimode, type FC, SC, ST, LC and MU

Technical specs

Connector type

sc/lc/fc/etc

Connector type

male or female

Windows

1310/1550nm

Attenuation range

1~20dB or custom

Return Loss

>=55dB

Max. incoming power

500 mw

PDL

<=0.2dB

Compliance

NTT Telcordia ANSL TIA/EIA and JIS

Operational Temperature

-30°C~ +75°C

Storage temperature

-35°C~ +80°C

 Descripción ¿Por qué usar atenuadores?
